Definitely agree with replacing it if you're going to have it out anyway. Most are labor intensive to get to, and the replacements are usually not very expensive. Most are $50 or less at the local parts house.

if you get a permatex radiater repair kit designed for high temp ,antifreese and seals cracks pin holes only fix if it is easy fix take the heater core out of the truck read the instructions on the package and follow then reinstall heater core normally all are replaced with new.7$ for a kit 30$ new heater core

If you have removed the heater core, my advice is to replace it. You would hate to remove, repair, and then reinstall only to find out it needed additional work.

You can use regular solder if you have to. There is no special kind of radiator solder now. Hopefully, you have a spot welder too.

Dont waste you time trying to repair it replace its also has some blockages to so why not have all the heat you can get from a replacement
