YOU ARE NOT WHAT YOU DID BUT WHAT YOU ARE DOING. You need to accept the past and the mistakes you made. Trust me on this I have made too many to count but my grandma once told me it isn't a mistake if you learned from it, if you did that makes it a lesson.

First understand that all of these regrets and self loathing only live as the result of memories you drag around with you every day. The past is past and there is no way of changing it.
Try writing on a piece of paper all of the things which you regret, loath, feel guilty about and store negative emotions about. One sheet of paper to each item.
Take a long piece of string and at 300 mm intervals approximately tie each sheet of paper to the string. Tie the end of the string to your belt and then spend as long as necessary walking around doing your everyday things whilst dragging this tail behind you.
You will soon realize that you don't need to drag the physical tail with you because all it does is generate new problems. The mental tail that you are dragging is exactly the same. Neither serve any useful or positive purpose, both are only there because you put them there and want to keep them there, both stop you from functioning effectively. Get rid of both the tails and worry about how to avoid building a new one in the future.
Good luck.

Ask Your self these Questions. Write your answers in a piece of paper.
Did I learn anything?
Have I become a better person because I learned from this?
Do I really regret it?
Would I really go back in time to change any of this?

Regrets are leasons learned, If you know what you did, figure out the person you want to be and become that. Ask for forgiveness from the people that you have harmed including yourself. If you learned something and are a better person for it, then it was a life lesson and apply that to your morals. Most Importantly If you do not really reget it then move on it makes no sense to regret something you appriciate. When you write your answers go back and read them once in a while, you'll see things diffrently when you think about things from many perspectives. Something good will come out of this. GOOD LUCK

Mistakes are just that... mistakes. Where you are right now is because you made them. Do you really want to change who you are at this moment?

Think of all that has happened since these mistakes, especially the good stuff. If those mistakes hadn't been made, that good wouldn't have happened.

You can play the "what if..." game all you like but it wont change anything. Accept what has happened and be a better person because of it.

"Everything happens for a reason. No matter how screwed up that reason is."

why?
Life is full of peaks and valleys. Instead of viewing life thru the rear-view mirror, take the wheel and focus on the rest of your journey.
Life gives no promises and a few questionable moments or choices can have a lasting effect on a person. Try to remember that your entire life, regardless of how successful you are or how little you have or have accomplished, will mean little upon your demise.
How you handled life's lemons and treated others will matter much more.
That old proverb "you shall reap what you sow"! Or, "what goes around, comes around"!
Don't let setbacks and mistakes cripple you. Start tomorrow fresh and work on improving the inner you and allow yourself to forgive you. Begin a new life as a better person.
Good luck.

The best way to do that is to forgive yourself for the mistakes that you have made, and accept the consequences that have come from your choices.

Everyone makes mistakes and no matter how big or badly you may have messed things up for yourself or for anyone else, the most important thing is that you are able to just tell yourself... everything kind of happens for a reason. Don't look to others for approval. All that matters is .. what you think of yourself.

You have to let go of the regrets, accept that mistakes are perfectly normal, forgive yourself if you need to, and realise that there's no reason to loathe yourself.

guess what? Today is the first day of the rest of your life....it is your choice how you choose to live from now on..
I don't know what you have done and nor does most of the world and we don't care. We accept you as you are today and it is up to you from this minute.
You were created for a purpose so don't let some past rubbish ruin it....get going! quick, quick, quick! some one is waiting for you.
do something for some one else at least once a day and
live with love and laughter.

List all the mistakes you have done, and write down what you can do to compensate it.

Determine from today, that you will not do the same thing again, every night before sleeping, check if you did it again, and how many compensation you have contributed in.

why? everyone makes mistakes and bad choices but the good thing is that life goes on and is even able to get better or be changed from the wrong you did...your past is your past and it makes you who you are its how you learn and grow and become better, smarter, and stronger...so just accept that your past is what it is and move on let it go and build your future the way you want...no matter how messed up your past is it wont hold you back forever unless you let it...ask me i know all to well!!
