Both started while a President from Texas was in office,
Lyndon Johnson and George W. Bush. We are supposed
to be after Bin Laden but somebody took a wrong turn some-
where. Vietnam, Irag, Somalia, Korea, these are mostly known
as a police action not a war ! But dead is dead to the soldiers
their families and the people of New York who are still waiting
for Osama Bin Laden. And for the record, we didn't lose in
Vietnam, not when it dragged on for 11 or 12 years, all the men
that had to serve there "dead or living" should be looked up to
and seen as Hero's ! Politicions were the problem and it's still
the same.

The Only difference is one war was fought in Vietnam and one war is being fought in the Middle East.

Both wars contain an enemy willing to do what ever it takes to remove foreign forces from there land.

Both Wars began because of the US A's paranoid stance on how other people think Communism and now under the guise of "Terrorism" .Still looking for those WMD,s.

In Both Wars the USA thinks that its overwhelming might will win the day, only to be squashed by a lesser though more determined enemy.

obviously, both wars illustrate what occurs once you fail to take account the values, lifestyle and morals of the persons you settle on to "save." both wars are Orwellian in that they don't fairly serve any purpose except to spoil end results of the economy that would nicely receive to the staff. Iraq is more beneficial scary in that we settle on the oil we declare we are no longer combating for. So, it truly is going to be more beneficial sturdy to shrink & run in Iraq. on the different hand if we save spending $10 billion income line with month our u . s . will be destroyed from interior. In Vietnam casualties were a lot higher; notwithstanding, there become more beneficial reporting about the conflict. also, in view that there turned right into a draft there turned right into a sturdy protest stream. no individual cares about Iraq or would even signal a petition enable a lone march down the line. In Iraq our troups are "volunteers' and prefer McCain says they can strive against and die for yet another one hundred years and no individual will care a lot about it. yet, the troops pay a negative fee. partly beuasse of more beneficial efficient medical technologies, troops struggle through an exteremely intense price of head injuries from IEDs. The lesson of both wars are the Powell Doctrine: do not pass to conflict until eventually you're prepared to positioned each and every thing into triumphing becuase triumphing is that major which for sure it isn't any longer in Iraq. sure. there are multiple unhappy similarities between both wars. ********************************** In interpreting the comments above the lack of expertise displayed is shameful. those who do no longer keep in mind historic previous are condemned to repeat it.

They both were started for Idiotic reason. We initially entered Vietnam to help France retain Vietnam as a colony. Basically we tried to help France re-enslave the Vietnamese people. We only promoted Democracy after the French abandoned the war. WE claim that Iraq had nuke and went in to rid them of these weapons. We found out that they had none. We allowed Opium to grow in nations tangentally in both wars. Opium grown in Burma, Laos and Thailand to help fund the war. Opium is grown in Afghanistan currently. Both wars claim to bring Democracy to the people, but ignored what the people want. The vietnamese wanted communism and Iraqi's want a theocracy.

The V war has ended. The I war is still ongoing.
The V war was won by the Vietnamese. Looks like the I war is also being won by the enemy.
The V war tactics are more of the guerilla type. The I war uses higher technology weapons.
The V war did not involve many other nations to help the USA FIGHT IT. The I war had so many contributions in terms of soldiers/men from other nations helping the USA fight this war.

How about I compare the war to the crusades. Our leaders are seaking to tighten their "holy" grip on america. Al Quedas attack on the towers was the excuse to send in the crusaders, simmilar to the letter Count Flanders gave to Pope Urban II. Some American officials are seeking to make the US their Christodum. War in Iraq is just a continuation of the quest for the sacred grail. Holy war in the holy land.

58000 dead in the Vietnam war, 3000 dead in Iraq. Funny how this is seldom pointed out.

If you don't support the war why don't you go live somewhere else? No one wants you here.
