How can I make a note "longer" in FL Studio??

Question

I want a note to last longer than 1 beat. How can I streach the note out for 4 beats?

in simple terms...

I can only get a note with a certian instrument to go:

doo

when I want it to go

doooooooooooooooooooo

and last longer, you know what i mean? How do i hold the note for a longer period of time in FL studio?

It depends on what note is getting the beat.

If 1 quarter note equals a beat then use a whole note.
Eighth note gets beat.... use half note.
