my sims2 will not start i have tried everything i can think of except uninstalling which i really dont want to do.
Please help i'm getting desperate!

have been playing sims since it first came. am not new to it. I have checked and rechecked everything so has my husband who knows a fair bit about computers.

I have the patch. The start up screen comes up (sims2 pets) then thats it. The pc makes that sound that it makes when it starts loading but then nothing. It's like it's not reading the disk. The disk is in excellent condition.

Uninstalling may be your only option sorry

Try giving us more details on the computer screen when it does not start. Did it show anything or any error?
You might want to download the patch for the game.

Make sure the cd is in properly. Is this the first time you've used it? Please give more details. :)
