The easy answer here is Marty Brodeur but would not be correct... Roberto Luongo is by far the biggest talent in the league... For years he was banished to the hockey cesspool of florida with a horrid team in front of him... Now playing on a decent Vancouver team he is putting up great numbers this year... But you still have to look at the fact that Brodeur on NJ with there defense first attitude and solid system sees far fewer shots and alot fewer quality shots in his games... If you put Luongo on that Jersey team I guarantee he would have the same if not better numbers... By far the biggest talent in the NHL net with many more years to come to show his talent cause he is not even in his prime yet...

Martin Brodeur you can't beat this guy, hes been simply the best goalie the past 10 years.
Jesse S>>>>its funny how you say the Devils are so defencive minded but have you seen who has faced the most shots this year, yes MARTIN BRODEUR HAS FACED THE MOST SHOTS THEN ANY OTHER GOALIE IN THE NHL. SO DON;T GIVE ME THAT CRAP, that he doesnt face that many shots.
GO HABS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Martin Brodeur, no doubt. Miikka Kiprusoff is amazing and all with his amazing saves.. but Brodeur has 10 shutouts ALREADY. Kiprusoff had like 10 last season at the END of the season.
But here's the top 4 goalies, no doubt.
4.) Jean-Sebastian Giguere (Anyone who knows hockey knows Giguere is OWNING Luongo)
3.) Miikka Kiprusoff
2.) Dominik Hasek (Old, but he is still very good.. figures as a Sabres fan.. damnit)
1.) Martin Brodeur, easily, Hasek won't get better than him.

Kiprusoff. It's not his fault the Flames can't play defense in front of him, and he still has the ability to singlehandedly carry the team to victory.
If Brodeur didn't play in such a defensive-oriented system, he'd undoubtedly be the best, as he has the numbers to support such a claim. Luongo also deserves consideration, as do a number of others, including Giguere, Miller, and perhaps even Toskala, but I'd still take Kiprusoff over any of them, and then try to assemble a competent defense around him.

Brodeur. Now if you want my favorite goalie then I'd have another choice.
So why are people picking Roy when he isn't playing? This isn't the best ever or who WAS. The question is who IS which I assume means this year.
