The best way I can describe this particular cartoon is: it's set on a European battlefield during WWII, and it shows soldiers fighting at night. Towards the end, the battle comes down to two soldiers--they aim at each other and both fire, leaving both of them dead.

After the fighting has ended, a group of animals gather in the ruins of a cathedral near the battlefield. An owl reads some verses from the Bible pertaining to war.

This is a weird question, and it's a long shot to see if anyone else remembers this old cartoon. THANKS!!!

I think this was a Disney propaganda production. I think I saw it once, as it sounds really familiar. But I don't think it was a Warner Bros (Bugs Bunny, etc) or MGM (Tom & Jerry) production, as they preferred to stay more secular, and were more on the comedy side. Disney seemed to do the dramatic stuff.
