for a 96 I'd be guessing around 200 or less if you go to like a SafeLite Auto glass place. The newer the vehicle the more it runs. my 93 blazer 5 years ago ran me 175.

Should cost a little over $100 to fix. A little advice: DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT go to www.glass.net I had a broken windshield, no one showed up to my house after i made the appointment online. Their calling board blocked my number for some reason, so I had to call on my cell phone. they finally came, a little late, but they were there. anyway just call a local auto glass shop and they will do the same thing but with better service.

Yes. A local glass shop we called and came out and replaced it. If you want to get your in insurance involved they may pay for it on the basis it was caused by an act of God so you will not be looked on as the one who caused it. But I would not contact the insurance company because it will be just one more accident on your record and raise your premiums now or when the next accident occurs.

How much is it......? Is a bad question here since we cannot speak to the cost that someone else is going to charge in an area we are unfamiliar with. You need to direct this question to someone you wish to perform the fix.

You will have to shop around. There is a whole section on auto glass in the yellow book. If you go through insurance, pick an outrageous price and then triple it.
