This is your "slot" receiver...he can also be a back.

When he aligns very tight...as in the wing T or the cowboy offense - he's called a "wing" or a "wingman".
And he can also be a half back.

AND these are geographical and coaches preferance.

Telling people you are a "wingman" for the team doesn't mean you are a receiver...but it does tell people what kind of offense you run...which limits your ability if thats all you are. Better to be a Wide Receiver or a Tight End...

don't think there is such a position. There are wide receivers and tight ends. Two different positions.
