Somebody needs to read up...
Sperm can live for up to 7 days
inside the female body. Just
sitting and chilling waiting for
their chance. It's all a matter of
timing. Ovulation is generally
14 days, before your next period.
You need to know if you are on a
28 day , 30 day, or 32 day cycle.
To be able to calculate the best
time to get pregnant, or not to.

Your best chances of getting pregnant are during or on the day you ovulate. Your chances lessen after ovulation.

You can get pregnant during. The point is that the egg leaves the fallopian tubes and travels toward the uterus. If it gets fertilized before reaching there you get pregnant. So you can get pregnant anytime along that timeframe. If the egg does not get fertilized then you will have your period because you shed your uterine lining then.
