Everyone has their own experiences, to share these experiences with other people help them to understand their problem and perhaps solve it. In group therapy, the only answer you can pretty much give is ; I don't know about your personal situation, but when I ........." It is always easier to see a problem if your not personally involved. what you are saying is sooooo true! I was just thinking the same thing a couple of days ago. i guess my answer to your question is that people find it easier to look into someone elses yard instead of looking at their own. i think once everyone realize that this world will be a better place. and prime example: the united states!! why would you go over in other countries and try to slve their problems when their are so many issues here in america that needs to be fixed.

Not all of us have the same skill sets or experiences. Often you can learn from the experience of others, which can save you the time or pain of learning by trial & error. At the same time, you have something to contribute to others - something you've been through or a topic you've studied. Your knowledge may be just what someone else needs.

It took me a long time and it was a hard ride learning that we are created to need others. We can't do this alone. If we could; it would be a much duller and very different world.
It's good to need people. It empowers them- it returns to us multiplied.

I don't have any answer to any questions .. well. just smart remarks and they don't help me with my own questions...

hmmm... I know some math.. and I try to help others with homework sometimes...

I wish my own problems were as easy as linear algebra!

But, you are partially wrong.. WE have a vast number of answers to our own problems.. and so they don't show up as problems because we can avoid them or we already have the answer to them.. we only ask the problems to which we don't already have the answer.

because its easy for a third party to analyze all aspects fairly and to find a solution no matter how difficult it is.
when it is your problem you naturally avoid hard/seemingly impossible solutions and let your bias get in the way of solving the issues
