i wouldn't consider calling yourself that instead use "full figured woman" Do I fit for that? yes you do you can prove that there are normal good looking people as models and that you don't have to be (anorexic skinny) to prove people that Or am I too big? no but then again in the MODELING world a size 6 is BIG BIG, can you belive that? There is no single path to follow for getting started. Different models have found success through different routes. If you want to become a doctor, for example, there is a set course of schooling, experience, and testing to follow. But for a career in modeling, there is no clear path. Front Door - Go to the Source The bulk of the work in modeling is booked through modeling agencies. So, literally, go to the front door of the modeling agency. You will have to do some research. First, find out where the modeling agency door is, whether locally or in some big city. Second, determine that it is not a scam agency You can also approach a modeling agency through their open call, by scheduling an interview, or by submitting a cover letter and photographs. Give them a call or email them and ask how they want new talent to contact them. Are there petite sizes and plus sizes? Yes. Do commercial, glamour, acting, or smaller markets care anything about these sizes? Not much. Are there petite sizes and plus sizes? Yes. Do commercial, glamour, acting, or smaller markets care anything about these sizes? Not much. Plus-size models participate in a variety of modeling jobs including print work, runway shows, and fit or informal modeling. Fashion modeling is the category aspiring models usually think of when they dream of being a model. Fashion plus modeling can include a magazine cover or layout, representing a plus-size manufacturer in print advertisements, or strutting down the catwalk in the latest Lane Bryant lingerie. Requirements Can Include: Between 5'8" and 6'0" 5'9" is pretty much minimum for larger markets though Wilhelmina in NYC does represent a few girls who are 5'7" and 5'8". Size 12, 14, 16 Sizes 10 and 18/20 are also used, but are not as common. Toned You may be a "plus size," but you may have to be in shape if you model swimwear, lingerie or fitness gear. Proportionate You should be in proportion. Your bust, waist and hips should be about ten inches apart in size (i.e. 42-32-42) or very close. In addition, the shorter you are, the smaller your size should be. Someone who is 5'8" would be expected to wear a smaller size (12/14) than a taller model. It is all about length and proportion. When looking for an agency to represent you, ask if they represent plus-size or commercial models. If they do, ask what their height and size requirements are. If you fit their requirements, ask to schedule an interview or find out if they have open calls. If you live a distance away from the agency, do a mail-in with your pictures and information.

The thing is Plus Size Models are like.... size 14's. Real Plus Size women are like you know.... 22/24/26. Anyway, like in most modeling areas, Plus Sized Modeling doesn't accurately reflect real life.

Firstly, plus size models are not really plus size. They are usually between a size 8 and a size 14 maximum. They have flat stomachs because they tend to gain fat in their breasts and hips, as opposed to around their abdomens, giving a curvaceous hourglass figure.

most plus size models are taller and have a wider body frame, making them "bigger" which is why they wear plus sizes. so usually, if they're in good shape, their stomach is flat.
