International Union of Operating Engineers....AFL-CIO. Just do a search for them. I am a member of Local #12 and working in Local #3 right now (the two biggest Locals in the Union). You are a little old er than most but once you vest in 5 years you would still be able to draw some kind of a retirement. That is my belief, but a Representative will be able to tell you more.

At 46, I can understand you, believe me. I transcribe for a living, have been doing it for 25 years. I am now getting some arthritis in my hands and am getting a little frightful. You need to explore what you are really interested in and go from there. You may need to take some classes, but a lot of classes are held at different times, especially at night so you could work on a degree if you wanted to - it will take a little time but may pay off in the long run. I went for 2 years after high school and am thinking seriously about another 2 years at an online school. You have many options, girl.

I honestly don't think that you currently have the writing skills needed to succeed in college. "Carrier", "maintinence" and "benifits" are all juvenile spelling mistakes. You might want to take some night classes to upgrade basic Engilsh and math skills before you apply to any colleges.

Go to college and train for a new career. I started college when I was 41. I graduated in 1998 as a nurse. Now I'm back in school at 53 for my master's degree in education. You're never too old. After this one, I want to go to law school.
