Yes. Far enough away to discourage someone from packing up to visit....maybe 4 or five states away should do.

Yes, you can definitely move away and have a nice life without your family. I did this 5 years ago when I moved to Ca from Wa State, and have been very successful with my new life. However, I can say that I do miss my family sometimes, as much as they drove me nuts sometimes. I miss being able to go visit my grandma on warm days and her homemade meals, I miss the fun my dad and I used to have, and I also missed my sister growing up and my brother. I'm not saying I'm unhappy, I'm just saying that for me achieving my happiness, I also missed out on allot to. I feel like I've had my time away now, and I am looking into moving back home in the next coupe of years. Some family members are getting older now, and I would like to enjoy them before the pass. Whatever you do though, make sure it's for you and always make the best out of it. Stay in contact with them always and be sure to visit at least once a year.
Best of luck

It depends on your relatives. I'm currently living 1500km away from my family and it's really hard, because apart from my boyfriend I don't really have any friends. But my family knows I'm looking for a better life than in my own country. If you're not very attached to your family, there's no problem

Yes.
I am married and we live about an hour away from the nearest relative.
It is an excellent distance because we can easily spend holidays with them and still sleep in our own beds, but it is far enough away that they don't just stop by unannounced.

absolutely!!!
I see lots of of people answered yes and I will to.
There is nothing more draining and demoralizing as a defunctional family. No one is mandated to endure hate-swilling relatives who's only goal is to make sure your life is as miserable as theirs.
Move out, move on and live..... with a smile!

yes....but somehow it will come back to haunt you.
Be sure it's absolutely the only way you can find peace and fullfillment.
Family can be a royal pain sometimes....but there is nobody else in this world that knows you like they do.
If your only family is destructive and only does you harm, then it's best to distance yourself.
Good luck and God Bless.

The world is a small place. Depending on your age maintain some contact with them. Don't burn any bridges. At some point they may even understand you and you them.
