DID AL PACHINO HAVE TO GET TRAINED for ACTING?

i'm tryin to write a project on al pachino. i was wondering if he ever received any formal training for acting ??

Al Pacino went to Manhattan's High School for Performing Arts. He later studied with the great coach Lee Strasburg. Mr. Pacino was so committed to acting at one point he was homeless and living in the theater he was performing a show.
