How does Shakespeare use metaphor to contribute to the characterization of Beatrice and Benedick

Shakespeare compared both Beatrice and Benedick to animals that needed to be tamed. When Beatrice professes her love to Benedick, she makes references to terms from falconry. Later, Benedick, who is averted to marriage, is compared a couple of times to a bull who "doth bear the yoke." Basically, love tames the beast in some of us.
