I have a TON of Dreamcast games that are taking up soooo much room. I want to convert them to a ROM on my PC. The only software I seem to be able to find is where you need a certain cable to hook up the Dreamcast to the PC. My question is, where can I find certain software where I can just place the disc in the laptop's CD drive and convert to a ROM?

There is no software to directly read Dreamcast GD-ROMs. The Dreamcast Discs are special discs, that only work on the Dreamcast drive, as there is a small (3 Minute) track, that is in a standard CD format (normally contains an audio track that explains that this is a dreamcast disc and should be placed into the console).
Then there is a small gap (often with "Sega" printed on it) and the outer track is over 1 GB of storage in a special disc format. This special format is unreadable by normal CD or DVD drives.
Normal CDs can only record up to 800 MB of space.

So in short: You cannot read a dreamcast disc on your laptop.
