Even though he's in a new relationship... and everyone thinks the new girlfriend is great, beautiful, etc... he still remembers how comfortable his relationship was with his ex... she wasn't perfect.. but there was something about her... their love was so comfortable and right. Even though he's moved on in everyone else's eyes... he wants his ex back... and is telling her.

Basically, he misses his ex-girlfriend because he felt "comfortable" with her where as he doesn't with the new one.
