Depends on your reason for contacting them. But realize the world will go on even if you do or do not contact them.

I contacted the first girl I ever fell in love with after 35 years. We did not part on the best of terms. I've thought about her often over the years. It was good to get closer on some issues.

It is always good to contact an old friend. However if it is someone who caused you pain, or if it is someone who has a bad influence on you, the best thing is to forgive the person(assuming they hurt you) and move on. Sorry if I went off topic. Hope I helped. Take care, Katie

How do you feel about the person you are considering contacting?

Were they controlling? Were they a problem for you? If so, you might want to reconsider.

If you are expecting nothing but joy then by all means contact them.

My brother and I have the same friends from the past. They were brother and sister too. He apparently got in touch with the brother and they have hung out 2-3 times. But each time I tell my brother I want to get in touch with her, he just blows me off like he knows that she doesn't want to talk to me. So I gave up on getting in touch with her.
Do you know anything about their present circumstances?
I've decided not to, because people have gone on with their lives without me/you, and it would be an intrusion. I feel like I would be disrupting their current state of being.
Good luck in decision making!

like who?

i have contacted old schoolmates and i feel that it is great for closure, even if you didnt think you needed it. it feels like you can really put a lot of stuff to bed.

Sure, as long as it isn;t a surprise visit, or an intrusion to a marriage or such.
