Peanut butter and Jelly sandwhiches on squishy white bread with the crust cut off. Or cut them into little hearts and stab them with toothpicks.

When I did something similar, I made meatloaf sandwiches, packed up some edamame (the soybeans were pre-cooked and salted, ready to eat), made organic carrot chips (just slice rounds of oranic carrots), and for dessert I made brownies...but for valentines day I would probably buy or make a peach cobbler or some chocolate dipped strawberries.
Pack his favorite beer or a bottle of wine (and bottle opener), napkins, bottles of water, and plates.
Have fun!

I'm a guy, so I always just stuck with a roll of French Bread, a couple different kinds of cheese and a chub of summer sausage, and lots of decent red wine.
I never cared much for the dessert (I'm a guy) but I always brought chocolate for my ladies and it was never refused.
