Children. The elderly have AARP, one of the most powerful lobbies in the country. Kids have no vote, so at the end of they day, they are not protected because they have no voice with which to protect themselves. Everyone talks about protecting children because it sounds good during election time, but look at the funding levels for the social agencies designed to protect, feed and educate children and you will see how low a prioroty children really are in this country. It's really kind of sickning when you think about it.

Elderly, but with some of the rulings these judges have made in some states, even though the laws are supposed to protect children, the judges often give these weirdos lenient sentences. So we could say children too.
