An aristocracy is the upper ruling class of a society, the power elites, not a form of government.

According to the CIA factbook, it's a parliamentary republic. Basically that means it's a democracy which focuses more upon representation than the vote. Remember, a republic is different from a democracy; we just categorize the two as being the same today because in America, we live in a democratic republic that takes the best characteristics of both Roman and Greek governments.
