Its like finding a needle in a haystack: the mechanic could have done 1001 things and the there could be 1001 things that could make it not go:

In general theres three main things that should be checked

1. Fuel - take the air filter off and pump your foot on the gas pedal a few times... you should see fuel spurt into the carborator)
2. Ignition or Spark - undo the spark plug lead holding it a few millimeters from the sparkplug (HOLD THE RUBBER PART OF THE PLUG LEAD ONLY AND NO OTHER PART OF THE CAR) Turn the ignition over and you should see a spark
3. Air - while the filter is off check for the condition of the filter to make sure its not full of gunk. make sure you the airways are not blocked (the car should still start without the air filter)

(these three things are what you need to make fire which is whats needed inside your engine to make it go)

This is the simplest way by process of elimination

My guess is that the mechanics didnt screw something back on properly and it fell off in transit. Something electrical. Get the mechanic to check it out again ... its still his responsibility (You have the right to ask what they did and to show you).

fuel pump relay could of gone out and not been replaced w/ the pump. wrong pump or pump with incorrect PSI for that car. when changing the pump out dirt in the tank could of been stired up and sucked up into the injectors...since you mentioned Si, this is fuel injected over the normal HF and DX models.

doubt mechanic did anything....just the fact the car is old and problems are gonna arise. like most used cars, specially that old, when you put one new part on, an old one breaks, just a given rule.

$700 for a clutch is cheap, I paid that for my CRX back in 90' for one. And you only paid $3000 for the car? Did you steal it? Even as a rust bucket it pulls almost $5000. Fix her up, let your daughter drive it and when she is done, she will easily get her money back out of the car. Let alone its a very VERY safe car, even though its small.

I had a head on collision at 55mph in my against a Ford Escort GT. The escort was taken out on wrecker with a broken frame. I drove home with a bent hood. Both headlights still worked along with marker lights. Just my center nose plastic piece shattered and my hood was bent and radiator was bent back bout 2". They are TOUGH little cars.

Could always spend the $60 at a Honda dealer to have them do a full inspection of the car head to toe and tell you all that is wrong and that will is starting to go wrong. Well worth the money specially if you do your own work or have a cheaper mechanic in a small shop.

I actual have it, and function dealt with what I call "hell days" for my entire existence. "Hell days" are the era days with clots like you describe, and no tampon nor pad can contain them. It worsened throughout menopause (sure, worsened) - and that i positioned on black pants each and every of the time, purely in case. LOL, there are worse issues, notwithstanding it truly is a worry-free attempt, and that i heartily propose it.
