Are you kidding me?! I've never even heard the song. I could understand James Blunt or Carrie Underwood, but the Dixie Chicks? I couldn't care less what their beliefs are, the song "Not Ready to Make Nice" is definitely not the song of 2006.

Why complain? The Grammys have no relevance and have no legitimacy in declaring what is best in music. Consider how many of the greatest songs or albums ever made have won Grammys. I think you will agree that there are very few. I'm not very familiar with the song in question, but I am betting it won more for its politics than for good songwriting.

These girls clawed their way against adversity when they could have skulked away into obscurity. Actually, if you listen to the lyrics, the song IS NOT about the President, but the death threats and violent backlash from the public over a flippant, ill-timed comment that the media exploited to the fullest.

It was a message about coping with the anger on the journey to forgiveness. Other musicians supported them because they understand the role the media plays in these matters.

And the underdogs won. Bravo!

And not to dis James Blunt, but I am really done with that song.

The only downside is that The Red Hot Chili Peppers didn't win.

I don't think they're necessarily hated for it anymore, but I haven't heard them on the radio, so I'm guessing that boycott is still in place. They took a big hit because when Natalie Maines said that, they were promoting their album "Home", more specifically the song "Travelin' Soldier." That song was on top of the charts until she made a comment about Bush, and radio stations stopped playing it and obviously, the song plummeted. I think they are a wonderful talent, but Natalie Maines needs to learn to keep her mouth closed sometimes.

After All the Crap the Chicks and their fans went thru, this is 110% Vindication for all of us!!! When the Bandwagon fans, Nashville, and the Industry turned their backs on them and us, The Real True Fans. The Real True Fans kept on Supporting them!!! Anybody who is a Real True Fan of theirs is Smiling from Ear to Ear. This makes My Year!!! I went to their Concert in November in Phoenix, it was smaller in scale compared to their last tour when they were Huge, but it was Great to see The Real True Fans come together and support the Chicks!!! So Natalie has every right to do what she did at the Grammys, She could have been Nastier, but it was Great that She did it the way She did it by saying, "Well, to quote the great 'Simpsons' — 'Heh-Heh.' So "Heh Heh" to all those people who turned their backs on the Chicks!!!

The song is a piece of crap. The reason it won though is because the whole thing is political. Not the song but the awards show. The song CLAIMS that they got in trouble over the comment about Bush. So because that they win for being Anti-Bush. Truth is they got in trouble because the retard started a feud with Toby Keith. He said he was wrong to go along and dropped it. She then had to try to keep it going by wearing a shirt that said F.U.T.K. at a concert that was being telecast at the CMAs or ACMs but either way.

I'm thrilled that they made that song. It lets the world know that Natalie Mane spoke the truth a few years ago. They have made a wonderful comeback when they never should have left.
Apparently a lot of people agree with them now, but couldn't see the truth when it was spoken.

You probably haven't heard it because the right-wing Bush Buddies who own the radio stations have refused to play their music for the past three years. If the Grammy commitee wanted to be PC they could have picked someone else, but they know who sells records.

I agree, not that good of a song, I liked "youre beautiful" better, but I guess thats about love at first sight, maybe thats not politically correct.
