There are companies out there making diamonds already... the process as quite evolved to improve quality (now "man-made" diamonds are more perfect than "natural" diamonds). The process uses chambers of high pressure and temperature, normally with what they call a "seed" that grows into a diamond. They can make the typical transparent diamonds, but also coloured ones. Here's a link to a company making them in the US, called Apollo Diamond :

There was a breakfast cereal in the mid 80's called "Crünchy Stars". It featured the "Swedish Chef" from the "Muppet Show". On that Box were dozens of jokes and weird factoids. One of them described how you could "make a real car out of this box - All you need is this box, 126 rubber bands, a v8 engine, duct tape,......"etc.
I thought it was hilarious. Another article read as such....

A Real Diamond in This Box!

You can make a real diamond out of this box! Did you know Diamonds contain carbon? Well, so does the cardboard in this box. All you need is a lot of heat and pressure, so, if you bury this box a thousand feet deep and wait a thousand years, you too can have a Real Diamond! Won't your Mother be pleased!

For as silly as it sounds, especially on the side of a cereal box, it is pretty accurate. In reality thought, most industrial diamonds are manufactured as well as a few Gem Quality stones. I am fond of Moissanite Gems, most diamond testers can't tell the difference, as it is purer than geologic diamonds. Also, there is no question or doubt about the origin of the stone. A new technique is being perfected right now which may be able to make fully pure diamond is any size (some measured in Kilo-Carats). At that point, Geologic Diamonds will be obsolete. If you want to make them yourself, like in the home lab, your only realistic shot is CVD or Carbon Vapor Disposition. Here is a link to read up on Moissanite, ans I saw a link to CVD in there. I hope you enjoyed the levity. Good Luck!

What kind of diamonds? Baseball diamonds? They sell them, you know. If you mean the type they use on rings, they're made of similar material to coal. But at very high heat and takes a long time to cure or grow. Many thousand of years. So If I were you, start doing research now on how to make one. when you have found ways to make them, you have to have yourself froze in a cryogenic machine for maybe 100 thousand years. By then your diamond will be ready for you when they bring you back to life. Good enough, yes?

There's nothing you could do physically to make the diamond as the pressure needed to make the diamond cannot be made by one human being unless your name is Superman. He made a diamond for Lois Lane in one of the Superman movies...the one with Richard Pryor.

Oh just throw some charcoal into a pressure cooker and heat it up to 1500 degrees celsius and 50000 atmospheres. Should come out all sparkley-like. I do it all the time. Don't need to work for a living anymore. It's great!
