Our laws say that it is against the law to commit suicide. Many people attempt a suicide & fail. The lucky ones succeed. We are a society that is largely based on Christian philosphy & ethics from the traditional Bible which say that it is a "sin" to take your own life. I think that many Americans are trying to have this type of traditional thinking changed in order that those of us who wish to die with dignity will have the choice to do so one day soon. Many of us do not want to be forced to live in a body that is tormented with pain & disease. We are the ones who refuse to become the guinea pigs & lab rats of experimental drugs & surgeons who will "try" to fix us, & only make something else worse in the process! Our government officials have not yet figured out how to say that it is O.K. to choose your time to die, without giving the impression that it is O.K. for just ANYONE & EVERYONE to have that choice! It's a confusing issue that is not dealt with in our society because we don't deal with death in a realistic way. I blame advertising & the media.

Because we need more workers. Also, as long as the insurance is paying then they are an asset.
