If you have even broken out (had your skin turn green or developed a rash) from other jewelry like rings or necklaces, then you shouldn't wear non-hypoallergenic earrings. If you don't break out from cheap metals with other jewelry, then you probably won't with cheap earrings.
What most people are allergic to is the nickle in costume jewelry. There isn't a way to tell if you will be allergic to it until you've worn it. If you have never worn anything but gold, silver, and other hypoallergenic metals, then buy a cheap ring or bracelet to test on your skin before you buy earrings. But even shopping at Claire's and such places, every store offers a line of hypoallergenic jewelry. So you can still wear the cheap and fun earrings without irritating your skin.

By fake I assume you mean made out of metal other than gold or silver.
No way you can know ahead of time if pierced earrings made of non-precious metals (i.e., metal that isn't real gold, silver or platinum) will bother you.
The only answer is to buy a pair, where them for a few hours, and if your ears start to itch or look red, you can't wear them and you have to stick with gold, silver, or platinum.
If you can wear fake earrings for a day without any discomfort, you're fine.

you can't know with out trying them on. so buy a pair and wear them around the house when you have no plans of going anywhere for a while (incase your ears do have a problem with the metal and they get red or something else)

There aren't really such things called 'fake' earrings.
It's the gem/jewel that's fake.
If you're afraid of infection, always buy pure gold or 99.9% silver earrings. If there's no label, then most likely it's not. You can also consult the retail assistant.

I choose the quick ones, although the lengthy putting ones are "IN". also, it really is in accordance on your coiffure, even if it really is short, i'd quite placed on the "medium" putting ones. the authentic lengthy ones seem extra effective with lengthy hair worn down. once you've a Ponytail (that is in now), large hoops are assume to be what's warm now.
