Yah kenny irons would be good too. But they already have some small backs. they need a big strong back w/ some speed. plus K.J will be back so they would have a thunder and lightning pair.

plus Quinn might not play for a while considering that they love Kitna so much. Hopefuly they draft Quinn or Russell and play him early.

I'd pick up at least 3-4 more wide receivers. You can never have enough of those.
I don't know if they will go after Quinn. I hear that Martz has a bit of a man crush on Kitna. Personally, I'd like to see them build up their lines. Have a great offensive line and it won't matter who you put as RB. Although Bush would be a great pick up to complement Jones.

What the Lions do depends alot on one thing, which is how much influence Mike Martz has.
Martz would not want a first round quarterback. Seriously, look at what he did with Warner, Bulger, then Kitna. He doesn't need first round talent to make his offense work. Even in St. Louis, the Rams drafted a quarterback in the 6th or 7th round every year.
First, Detroit should take Joe Thomas. They need a OL to protect the quarterback in Martz's scheme.
Then look at the backfield, all ex-Rams except Jones. If you take a RB it should be in the later rounds. Kenny Irons would be a good choice or Marshall Lynch from California. Very quick to the hole and hard nosed. However, the ex-Ram RBs could step up like Furrey did at WR.

You can't really draft someone to replace a player that will be back soon, you have to look at the whole picture. Most experts think (and I agree) that the Lions would/should draft an Offensive Lineman. The highest rated one in the draft is Joe Thomas out of Wisconsin. As far as drafting a quarterback is concerned, it is noted that since Jon Kitna now has a firm handle on the offensive system, he will work much better next season. Since the team lacks play makers particularly amoung the LBs and DBs, you can expect them to address these areas in rounds 2-4.

I live in Detroit and the word around here is they are looking at, the OT Joe Thomas out of Wisconsin. Martz said to a local sports writer they have no intention of looking at a QB in the first round. But I have heard talk of them looking at Troy Smith in round 2 or 3 if he is still there. As for the RB problem there is talk that if the cards fall right and the Rams get rid of Marshall Faulk he will rejoin Martz

1st round Brady Quinn, they need a franchis quarterback, period. Kitna will not get it done for them.
2nd round Kenny Irons, is fast and can catch out of the backfield which Quinn likes to have because he uses his backs a lot.
That is what they should do. Then in the 3rd or 4th round they need a good offensive lineman, maybe Marshal Yando out of Iowa or James Marten out of Boston College, they are pretty good and could help them out.
