I really want contacts, but I can't touch my eye. It feels so awkward. I think my eyes are just really sensitive, because they are also really sensitive to sunlight.
What can I do to make it more comfortable so I can get contacts?

Also, I'm dreading the exam. Is the exam bad if you have sensitive eyes?

I was the same way when I had to get contacts, I thought I wouldn't be able to do it. But the exam is like a regular eye exam, telling them the letters and numbers etc. After that they took me in this room and a lady showed me how to hold the contact, how to clean it, and showed me how to put it in. I was so nervous that I got dizzy! lol But I got it in on the first try and out on the second try. Now I'm a pro at it, it's not a big deal! You'll be fine! good luck!!

The exam is easy. If you really want contacts you will learn how to put them in and you will get used to doing it and having them in. I don't wear contacts anymore but when I did I had soft lenses and sometimes I just forgot they were in. I will tell you that contacts make sunlight to your eyes brighter and when I'd walk into buildings with A/C on or was outside in the wind my eyes would dry from the breeze and cause my vision to be blurry temporarily (I did not like that or the increased brightness from the sun).

Anything new feels awkward. For years, I tried to wear contacts. The doctor prescribed hard lens, and they really hurt. Finally, I found a doctor that prescribed soft lens, and putting them in was so easy that I just got used to it. The exam isn't painful. Tell the eye doctor how you feel and he will work with you. There are so many new kinds on the market now that you'll be surprised at how easy it is.

Well, if your eyes are THAT sensitive, i really doubt that you will be able to wear contacts. your eyes would be extremely irritated, and the only way to really get over that would be to keep putting them on, but i doubt you could get them in once.

the exam is fine for sensitive eyes, the only thing bad is this one thing where they shoot air in you eye.

same same. i didn't think i could put contacts in my eyes.
but you will get use to it the first try.
which they feel like rocks in your eyes when you first put it on.

put just relax, ask your eye doctor.
see what happens.
and just practice putting them on at home if you get them.

you will definately manage.
