binomial system/names?

If you were to use a binomial system to identify the members of your family (mother, father, sisters, brothers), how would you write their names so that your system would most closely approximate that used to designate species?

Write last name and then first name.

Example:
Washington George

Washington tells which group, and George tells exactly which one of the group.
