Yes, and the back ache is a classic sign that you could be in early labor. You could also have loose stools along with this. This cramping your experiencing could be mild contractions. I have some friends who didn't even remember loosing their mucus plug. You could loose your plug a little at a time, or all at once. It's different for all women. It will come out eventually, but you might not see it or recognize it for what it is. In other words, no, but it's possible to miss the mucus plug. It's a very small amount of stuff.

Yes it is. I had two children and never had the mucus plug come out before being admitted into the hospital.

Most women never even notice when their plug comes out. I only saw one of mine out of 4 babies. Chances are that the woman in labor lost it on the toilet and flushed it without ever knowing when.

Yes, I am the mother of four wonderful boys and never lost my plug. Two came early and two on time. But I never lost my plug with any of them.

Yes it is normal. With my first child I never knew about a mucus plug. When preg with second child my best friend told me about it lol. and it came out with second one, but not first child or third child.
