Cars are not the only thing that cause pollution:
Land clearing (less trees to proses contaminants)
House heat (wood, oil, gas, electrical)
Anything electrical (coal fired generators)
6+billion people doing there thing
All of the food industry trying to supply 6+billion people
All the clothing industry (most synthetics are oil based)
All manufacturing plants (they want your money, don't give a sh-t about air)
The list will go on forever until you convince the whole world to go back to the stone age.

Modern small cat-equipped petrol cars actually do very little damage, other than co2 emissions, which if we weren't intent on chopping down so many trees, wouldn't be an issue. Most city pollution comes from big, badly maintained diesel engines (like the ones in buses) & globally, heavy industry is to blame. While our American friends are not blameless, given their love of 10mpg SUVs, look east for the real culprits. China & India are building power stations at the rate of one every month! The fresh air's gone for good, sorry.

Actually, the air in So. California is a LOT cleaner than it was back in the 50's and 60's. I KNOW. I was there going to school. There were days when taking a deep breath full of pollution was a painful thing to do. Your lungs would ache afterwords.
You should be more concerned about over taxation and loss of your rights and privacy.

Fresh air please.
Never had a car.
Never learned to drive.
Don't want to either.
Never ever liked cars.
Cars are a drug, and most people are addicts.
It's never their fault...It's always China that's producing more pollution than them....It's always other people who should use public transport....
....junkies the lot of them.

well if it wasent for your car would still walk to work? ok if its just down the road but if its like 20 min drive well?
plus builders who do all your repair and extentions and so on they need vans dont they! or eles it would just be your local who then can charge what he likes as all the other builders wont come to you!
then what about all the mechanics what are they going to do even more people on the dole!
and then shops how are they going to get stock if there is no vans & lorrys?
then your rubbish who will take that away?
then there is your holiday to spain? how are you goig to get there no planes and no ferrys?
i think realy you just havent thought this one through?
its just not cars any way
