I would have to go with LBJ.
He's young so you'll have him for a while.
He's doing a very good job with his marketing and commercials with Nike, and I think that helps grow his fan base a lot, which would turn into more tickets sold for you.
And his skills are just amazing, this kid is so young, and so dominant, I can only imagine how good he will be throughout his career.
Lebron is the man!

If you are starting a franchise u would need a young and versatile player who could deal with the pressure and could help other players to bring the best in their games. Right now, i'd take D Wade, or D Howard, or even the emerging Chris Paul or Carmelo Anthony, that way u get a multi-dimensional player and a great leader.

I would want a young talent like Dwayne Wade, LeBron James or Gilbert Arenas. Kobe, Nash and Garnett are too old to start a franchise with.

LeBron James, the best player in this business since Michael Jordan.

LOL! I can't believe some people said Allen Iverson. He's a great player for his size but he's definately not that good compared to some of the other better players (Wade, Bryant, James, Yao, etc . . .). Some people have terrible scouting skills.

As pie-in-the-sky choices, Wade or Lebron.

HOWEVER, they are too expensive to change teams for the next 7 years. Realistically, you would have to find a talent that has not peaked yet, like Josh Howard or Dwight Howard. Plus, they are cheap to obtain contractually and therefore you could build a really talented team around them. In fact, I could easily get BOTH if I were an owner.

Currently, it's gotta be LeBron. He is a good passer, very versatile (good enough to play PG or PF respectably), and extremely young. D-Wade is another good choice, and if you want a big man, I'd say Dwight Howard.

Dwight Howard.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if someday he's averaging over 30 PPG, 18 RPG, and 4 BPG.
