Crime Dog, how can you say the Red Sox have the best staff in the AL? Just cause they signed an unproven Japanese player all of a sudden they have a the best staff?
If you want to compare pitchers between New York and Boston i will show you:
1. Wang vs Schilling, Schilling is on the decline while Wang is up and rising
2. Mussina vs Matsuzaka, Matsuzaka was only able to put up Mussina type wins in Japan, he will have shorter then Mussina wins in the Majors
3. Pettite vs Beckett, Pettitte may have elbow problems but he does not have long ball problems
4. Igawa vs Wakefield, I give Wakefield the advantage here, he is proven and has perfected the knuckleball for many years while we have no idea what Igawa will bring to the Majors
5. Pavano vs Papelbon, No idea what Pavano will bring and no idea if Papelbon will make the transition back to a starter. I say Papelbon we be better because i wouldn't count on Pavano being on the roster long
I will be the first to admit the Yankees don't have the best staff in the AL but i'd take it over Boston's anyday. But, if Yankees have any injuries their Triple A staff is absolutely loaded with Major League ready starters. It's kind of embarresing that if scouts are right about these pitchers the Yankees AAA staff is almost as good as their MLB staff. Also, Yankees offense is 2nd to none and unless Beckett has developed any kind of a change up this year expect his era to be high in the hard hitting AL.

the main suitable case situation for the East is to have it bypass right down to the cord with 3 communities in rivalry for a playoff game till the previous few days. The Mets, Phillies, and Braves all have valid placed up-season aspirations. i in my opinion experience that the Mets are the main suitable group as long as they stay healthy. even however, if Tom Glavin and Mike Hampton the two have between 12 or 15 wins on the top of the year (super if), i could be taken aback to no longer see the Braves win the branch. For the Phillies, that's merely a rely of enjoying consistent Baseball. The Nationals could be hugely greater, however the Marlins do no longer seem to have too lots. on the top, we could see the Mets, Braves, and Phillies all have greater beneficial than ninety wins, yet i'm affraid (as a Braves fan) that it incredibly is going to likely be the Braves who get disregarded of the placed up-Season

Not at all. I see the Tampa Bay Devil Rays winning the AL East in 2007.

Yes- they have the best pitching staff in the AL, and a great offense, but the Yankees pitching is all old or bad.

The Sox will certainly be there at the end. They have a great chance to take the division.
