That isn't wrong to ask at all.

Women get periods because every month, their uterus starts preparing for possibly becoming pregnant. The uterus is the female organ that babies grow in- and it opens into the vagina. The walls thicken to provide a good environment for a fertilized egg. This starts the day your last period ended. About 14 days into this, your body releases an egg into the uterus (ovulation). If the egg isn't fertilized, it just passes out after traveling through the uterus (you wouldn't notice it- it's smaller than the period at the end of a sentance) and your uterus breaks down the wall it built to protect the egg. This breaking down of the wall is what causes your period- all the extra tissue it doesn't need (and extra blood in the walls) is passed out. When your period is done, the cycle starts all over.

Also- men don't get them because they don't have a uterus.

Every time a new egg is produced the old one goes causing you to bleed. Men can't get periods because they don't have a uterus.

i know that it sucks and it doesn't seem fair, but having your period is how your body replenishes itself each month to keep your body healthy to have a baby. if you think about it would be pretty annoying if men flipped out with mood swings. i think one of us is enough. however; this may be fun to know, when a man really loves you he can become subconsciously sympathetic to you and feel cramps, bloating, and fatigue too. hope this cheers you up!

It is very simple men don't have the same reproductive system as we do....we bring babies to the world because we ovulate, have ovary's,etc.....
