Many people I talk to or have overheard seem unsatisfied with both leading political parties in the United States.

It seems to me that most Americans have never heard of the Libertarian party but unknowingly agree with most of their beliefs.

Unfortunately, most people are like sheep. They follow. Some people vote straight ticket ballots just because they profess to be of a certain party with no consideration to the man or woman they're voting for. The average voter is also resistant to change. They don't want to take the time and effort to do the research themselves, so they stick with what has worked in the past.... Follow the leader. Is it any wonder why we still can't elect our President by popular vote although we have the technology to do so?

If the Libertarian party is to make an impact, they will need a very charismatic leader who has the hearts of the people, the eye of the world and the voice of the media.

Libertarians are in line with the form. would you compromise that deviation from the form is why u.s. has come so some distance off purpose? if so then you definately would comprehend that a Libertarian administration would be very comparable, dare I say same to the way it replace into run while this usa replace into based. The Federal Gov. replace into limited to protection and few different responsibilities like delegating between the states and the States have been the governing bodies interior the U.S. individually i think of it may be plenty greater efficient to grant them a attempt then to easily shop utilising a similar 2 screw up events. And dont even metion the founders and slavery via fact via the time they signed the form, they have been just about all in line with liberating the slaves... disagree? Then how do you describe the anti-slavery of the North previous to the Civil warfare. That replace into attributable to Jefferson, Franklin, Washington... while Lincoln replace into the racist and actually didnt care relating to the africans, his purely subject replace into getting the Federal Gov. (unconstitutionally) via fact the dominant potential shape of government. seem it up.

I find that many of my beliefs align with the Libertarian party, but there isn't a strong enough following to make a difference. I feel like my vote would be wasted in the minority - so I vote for the guy I hate less out of the 2 bigger parties.

I'm a Libertarian. But I don't believe that most Americans would vote Libertarian if simply informed of their policies. While most Americans don't think they want their lives controled by the goverenment, they still want the government to give them goodies and they still want to be able to control _other_ people's lives through government power.

Yep, that sounds pessimistic. But things won't change until people's desire to be left alone becomes stronger than their desire to meddle in other people's private and financial lives.

I also have to agree with Dave. Until any good third party develops a strong enough following to make a difference, I feel I am wasting my vote, and possibly even aiding the worst candidate, by voting for my real choice.

Good point, but Dave is right, at least for now. Hopefully the future will be different and the Libertarians will adopt a larger following and be able to make a difference.

I am certainly open to some new views. I know I'm only one vote, but a world journey begins with a single step.
