You need to hook up a Vaccume test gauge and look for fluctuations in Vaccume.
If you suspect the head gasket, i.e. if the engine has been overheated recently,,or you have had an extreem loss of coolant,,a pressure test at the radiator will usualy tell you what is going on.
Also,,check your engine oil dipstick, look for milky white residue,,this will indicate coolant leaking into the crankcase,,and or the Combustion chamber,,,,,if it is realy bad it will cause white smoke out of your tail pipe.
If you see either of these evidenced,,,you are probably looking at getting your cylinder head machined,,and replaceing the head gasket.
Remember the old saying,,,,measure twice,,,cut once,,,in other words,,,make sure you run the correct tests to determine the correct fix.

to commence with if there is gooey, carmel searching stuff interior the oil fill cap then you genuinely do have some water interior the oil and that i'd wager it really is between the best gaskets... how you are able to make sure out the area is to emphasise verify the cooling gadget and discover the leak...... in case you won't be able to discover the leak it should be inner. (putting the coolant into the oil) the best element is to get to the best gaskets you've gotta take the intake off and once you get that off, verify those gaskets for indicators of a leak... If theres not something proceed on to the best gaskets..... wish this helps

most time on a intake leak it will not run right it mite blow some smoke out of the exhaust and on a head gasket it will most off the time put water in to the over flow tank you can take the radiator cap off ween the motor is cold and start it up and you will see air bubbles in the radiator that is a shear sign off a head gasket. hope this give you some help

If you lose the head gasget you lose compression in the cylinders. The intake gasget lets water into the oil system.
