Mainstream rap that is played on radio and TV is pretty bad. There are a TON of unknown hip hop/rap artists that really do have talent and make meaningful music, but because its not what "the masses" want to hear, no one will play it. I love my metal with pantera, black label, metallica,etc... 'and justice for all' is one of my favorite albums of all time, but that doesnt stop me from being open minded to other genres of music. Saying that "all rap is crap" is like someone hearing nickleback (yes they are horrible no matter how great you think they are) and saying "all rock is crap"

This isn't really a question. However, here are my two cents.
I personally don't listen to rap music either. Aside from the lyrical content not being interesting to me, I don't usually find the music to be either.
Now, that said, there are rappers who have rapped over music that they have arranged themselves. While I still might not enjoy it, it does take talent to compose music. Also, to compose and remember all of the different lyrics that rappers use, well that is a talent. So, I would not say that rappers are not talented.
There are lots of types of music that I just cannot get into, like Emo, indie, pop, pop punk, R&B. However, just because I don't personally like the genre doesn't mean that it is all completely worthless. It just means that, that's not what I like to listen to.
I don't try to down something because I don't listen to it, I simply don't listen to it. What I like and enjoy I buy and support the artists that create music that adds something to my life. Maybe, you should stop focusing on what you don't like, and focus on what you do.

so you think rapping takes no talent whatsoever? lets see any of the people who agree with that come up with a 30 second freestyle. just 30 seconds of "talking". make up your own rap about whatever you want but it has to at least have decent rhymes and come off the top of your head.
yeah, i thought so, you cant do it.

Lala Jay, I pay attention to in fact all kinds of rock and metallic. yet I nevertheless like some rap. the recent rap like lil wayne and all that **** is purely terrible and actually demands truthfully no expertise. yet older rrap like infamous great and 2pac alongside with Eminem and different artists like that are very stable. they do no longer make up pretend circumstances like various new rappers including lil wayne and souljaboy( I nevertheless dont even no how the f*@% he even have been given nicely known yet besides).

I think Rap is pretty good, way better than country. I just don't like what some of the rappers rap about.

i believe most rap artists of today have lost their touch, but older artists like the Beastie Boys and Run DMC are pretty good. if you want to hear inspirational rap you should listen to Naz or Tupac.

I dont really like much rap. but its not all about killing mothers and wives. Some of it can be good, and its not just talking its sorta like poetry with a defined rythm. Most mainstream rap does suck though. But so does all other mainstream stuff. So dont just hate it because you think its all about kiling people and err talking. its much more than that when it has meaning.

You obviously have no idea what you're talking about
First off, there's a lot of talent in rap music these days. Yeah, there are the novelty acts that are terrible, but you also have people like Jay-Z, Kanye West and Ludacris (to name just a small portion) that are making excellent, well produced and socially conscious songs.
Open up your eyes, take off the blinders...you might just learn something
