It's really just that bad. But what can one expect from a edited made for tv film. How do edit Stephen King?

But anyway...the best version...definitley the oldest one with Jack Nicholson.

I didn't know there was a new version of the shining. I know i wouldn't like it better though because nothing can beat the old version with Jack Nicholson. That movie is awesome. And the woman that played his wife was good too but she was so annoying that even I wanted to kill her. LOL

Watching any version without Jack Nicholson as Jack Torrance is just not my idea of a shining moment

I didn't even know the made a new one lol! The old one was awesome. Jack Nicholson was amazing and it's hard to beleive that anyone could even come close to playing that role better than he did. Oh man! He was creepy in that movie!!

It was not you. The older version was so much better. It had that old scary quality, the new one had to much technology and not enough imagination.

The old one is definitely better for many reasons...the new one they based more closely on the way the book tells the story...the book is great but the second movie just wasn't...
