IN the book TO KILL AMOCKINGBIRD by HArper Lee, what was the most important thing Scout learned on her first day of school??

She learns that her teacher is ignorant, but, As Atticus put it, she learned that she shouldn't judge someone until she "puts on their skin and walks around in it awhile."
Her teacher (miss caroline) was not from around there and was unaccustomed to the ways of Maycomb.

on her first day of school, scout learned that not everyone is like her. she learns to walk a mile in the teacher's shoes as atticus tells her. the teacher isn't from around there so she didn't know the families very well, unlike scout. so scout puts herself in the teacher's shoes and thinks about what it would be like to be a teacher for a whole bunch of people that you have no idea about. also scout learns she can't run around beating up people every 2 secoonds. hope that helps
