There is a problem in the Antilock brake system. Your brakes will still function and stop the vehicle but the antilock function will be disabled because it will not react properly. To fix it properly and cost effectively, you need to take it to a reputable repair shop or dealer. There are too many very expensive possibilities to give you a guess.

lots of the above strategies hide the suited concerns worry-loose to any automobile: undesirable sensors and so on. besides the fact that there is an fairly worry-loose project particular to the 2002-2010 mountaineer and explorers the region the ABS basic comes on AND the cruise administration would not paintings. If this difficulty happens: replace the cruise administration cutoff replace that's fixed at the back of the Brake Cylinder. the section is style of 20-30 dollars from the broker service and takes basically 5-10 minutes to swap.

I had the same problem with my 1999 Olds Bravada which is pretty much the same SUV it ended up being a ABS sensor on RT front wheel I would get it fixed ASAP Evan though you have normal brake operation except ABS they can hook up to computer and find out whats up. It's all computer controlled crap not like the old days where all you really did was change pads or shoes!!!

First thing to check is do you have BRAKE FLUID its normally Red / Reddish-Brown, when you open your hood you should be able to find a reservoir that says "Brake Fluid" make sure there is enough in there, if there is a good level of fluid up to the marked line, then take it in, if it is low, drive a DIFFERENT CAR to an auto parts store, get sum brake fluid ( pretty cheap ) and fill her up n hope the light turns off! Good Luck, BE CAREFUL DRIVING IT! MAKE SURE YOUR E- BRAKE WORKS JUST INCASE YOU NEED IT

like everyone had said there could be a problem with the brakes and I wouldn't take chances of driving with bad brakes. Best way to fix the problem is to take it to a reliable repair shop

If the ABS light and break light comes on then there is something wrong with the abs. Take it to auto-zone and haveit scaned. It could mean you need break service or it could be nothing more then a bad senser. When it comes to breaks dont take a chance, get it scanded( its free from auto zone)

breaks could be bad, emergency break could be bad...or just a malfunction. It may be okay to drive for a day or so, but I wouldn't take my chances going too far or at high speeds. Think of if your breaks went out on a curve going 65 mph...not good.
