You and your best friends should get together and hang out.
If that's a no go, look in local papers, or call radio stations and find out if they're having singles events for that night somewhere. Some places (bars, clubs, bookstores, coffee shops, ect) hold events like that on certain days.
I would certainly go to one if you're not too shy!

Take a box of valentines and a box of sugar-free candies to a nursing home and give them to the old folks. They'll get a boot out of it and you'll get to hear a bunch of stories about how they met their wives or husbands. Besides that, it's a nice thing to do.

Valentines day is a day to make the lonely feel more like ****. Don't let these man-made silly 'holidays' make you feel like an outcast, Its ******* ridiculous. Just like feeling obligated to get people presents on bdays or xmas. Just take your time, forget about Feb.14th and go on a search for a reasonable man (or woman, I didnt clarify your sex). Don't lower your standards.
