No, the Bears did just what they have done all year when they run into a NFL team that is really better than their statistics. The Bears were fortunate to get to the Superbowl. Rex Grossman is not the answer for them. You can say what you want to about their record this year, but their record did not reflect what their defense really did for the team. Lovie Smith is a clone of his former mentor Tony Dungy. They both are defensive coordinators and defense comes first. The only reason the mentor won over the pupil is that the mentor has an offense. Rather, a top-notch NFL quarterback handling his offense. So, no, the Bears are who we all knew what they were, an average NFL team in over their heads at the biggest game of their careers.

Yes, definitely. They had a field advantage in playing outdoors in wet weather. Some mistakes were inexcusable such as fumbling a snap and trying to go deep and do too much. Another mistake was the opening score although it was good for the highlights they scored a little too quickly and that might have took the wind out of their sails. Like I continue to say to others is that this team must need Grossman to play well and that is the problem. Rex is green as far as quarterbacks go and he sometimes will force the ball down field. The defense was not sharp at all as all season it was burned out due to being on the field too long and the injury to Tommy Harris did not help the team as his loss was certainly felt. The Bears are a team that sometimes relies on a position too much like defense to win the game. You need both a good offense and a good defense and not rely on one side of the ball because an injury to a key player or poor performance can unglue your whole project.

The bears as a team simply got out played. They're defense was kept on the field for far too long, and the offense couldn't do anything. At half time the announcers were talking about how well Rex Grossman was playing, but that was simply because he never had the ball. Once he got it, the game went down hill for the bears.

I do not think that the bears could have done any better. They showed how they played all season. Good at the beginning and so so at the end. The colts played an awesome game and should not be criticized for destroying the bears. GO COLTS!!!!

The Bears had everything set up. The weather was horrible, they had great field position after every kickoff and they were also spotted a seven point lead. If the Colts and Bears played ten times, the Bears would lose eight.

The Colts game plan to control the clock and sucessful execution of that plan took the Bears out of the game.
It was not that Rex Grossman had a bad game, the Bears defense was outplayed.

To put it simply they got outplayed. Everyone had the Colts favored. I as a Bears fan really was hoping they pull off the upset, but that didn't happen. I think if they could have come together as a team better it could have been different.

Maybe a little better. I think they could have won 2 out of 10 times. The Colts defense was on a role and they had the best quarterback in the league.

The bears problem is the same one the Tampa Bay had with Tony Dungy. All of their money is tied up in their defense. If the Bears pick up Jeff Garcia in the offseason they will be the champs next year.
