I have a Canon and it's perfect. The pictures come out crystal clear and you can edit the pictures any way you want to.

MegaPixels are the amount of data in a picture. The more the pixels the more defined and accurate. Go for at least 4.0 or higher. Brand names are for your decision, as a former employee of Radio Shack I have seen brands are a personal preference. Make sure you get a memory card for your camera. There are many types and make sure you find out about your choice of camera. Hope that Helps and have fun. Tanjyobi Omedito!(happy birthday)

yeah i highly recommend panasonic. fx something depending on how many mega pixels and and other features you're looking for. 5 or 6 MP is more than enough. in fact if you're just gonna make 3R or 4R prints and view them on the pc even 3 or 4 MP would be enough but those cameras are getting rare so yeah aim for 5 or 6. not a fan of sony. get panasonic! i have one and my cousin has a new model and i have some other cousins and friends with sonys and canons and fujis and olympuses and the panasonic (especially my cousins newer one) rocks.

on megapixals (which is what everyone looks for) just remember you dont need any more than 5 for everyday use. Dont let the salesguy talk you into using anymore than that. After 5 or 6 the image will look the same no matter how high.

Nikon or Panasonic, but the important part is the megapixels. go for 5 or higher! P.S. get an SD card for 1 gigabyte on eBay or amazon.com. very cheap there
