I ask this cause when someone says who is a classic beauty. I always get the same response like marlyn, audrey, katherine, rita, harlow and jayne. Yes they are beautiful BUT I think Bette was a classic beauty too, what are your takes on her?

I think she was when she was younger. I don't think she aged really well, but she was still strikingly attractive in her older years.
I'm not sure she could be classified as a "classic beauty", but she had so much strength of character and charisma in her eyes and expressions, she was definitely beautiful, far more so than a lot of women you could classify as "classic".

Bette Davis was a classical beauty, a phenomenal actress and a bit of a tortured soul.
In the times of her early movies, she was adored. In more recent times, with the behind the scenes information that has been talked about; I think that it has probably tarnished her reputation a bit. She was definitely her own person, long before it was popular to be so.

No. Sorry. Not a "classic beauty", such as Greta Garbo, and many other actresses in Hollywood of her era, several of which you named . She did not consider herself a classic beauty, either. She had to work hard to get "romantic leading lady" parts, but she was a fine actress who used her talents to become one of Hollywood's finest stars. Look at her in a film like "Jezabel" or "The Young Foxes", or Now, Voyager". She fights against the traditional definitions of "beauty" to make something more of the character than a "beauty" .

I think that Bette Davis was a beauty. Because she was, and she was a good actress, and she was from Lowell, Massachusetts. Not far from where I now live.

I don't think she was pretty in the classic sense but, she had style. Very important and something many beauties lack.

Just looking at some of her pictures, yes; but her attitude did not enhance her beauty.
