Why do people get so perturbed when they hear 'the truth' as told by opinion? What is it about differences in skin color that makes someone so angry when you ask a question aimed at their specific 'color'? Isn't knowledge power? When we are curious and want to know more about each other, why is it received as 'wrong'?

The true racists are those who refuse to accept that we are all different. Personally, as a white male, I am not offended when someone of another ethnic background asks me about certain "White" traits or habits. Now, if it's done in a negative manner, I may react in a less than friendly way. But, come on... We are ALL different!

I think the reason people are so over-sensitive and confused about how to act and react to the race issue is this... People are being taught to accept and embrace each other's differences, yet, at the same time they're being told that we are all equal and should accept each other as equals and that any deviation from that, even if it's just a general curiosity, should be construed as racist and be treated as an offensive act.

Read the history about The Civil Rights. It will shed light on why color is a sensitive issue,I consider myself to be "colorblind" , not all people are. Sadly, there are still stigmas targeting minorities which would understandably cause some to feel defensive. My advice: proceed w/ caution.
