They are very small, about 1/4 of an inch in length. They are a copper color and it doesn't look like they have wings. They are oval shaped. Any ideas??

They are beetles, more commonly known as Lady Bugs. While they are unsightly they are basically harmless. They enter many homes through cracks, & loose siding on the warmest side of the house. They are just trying to keep warm & stay alive. They will leave when the outside temperature rises to a favorable level.

To prevent them from returning next year seal the cracks around the doors, & windows on the sides of the house facing South & West. It wouldn't be a bad idea to seal all sides of the house as it would reduce your heating bills as well as keeping the beetles out.

Google "Bugs" using Images and try to find a picture of them. Could be bed bugs but those usually hide. Give your house a good vaccuuming and dusting. Wash all the linens. Put stuffed animals in the freezer (kills bugs).

Sounds like yellow lady bugs. They get in through windows or doors usually. You will find them where the sun hits the house the most. Unfortunately, there is no real way to get rid of them unless you find where they are coming in at and seal it up.

well I would venture to guess that it is some form of a beetle or another your best bet to be shure is to go on google and search for an entomological index " list of bugs with descriptions and pictures" and it will be able to tell you what it is and perhaps why its in your house as well as weather or not it is a type of bug may or may not carry and kind of desease like a tick would.

I think you may have booklice. The first two sources are photos, the third and forth are extra reading on booklice. The fifth is a link to insects which are too small to identify easily. This is where I got the booklice from, but if you think it's something else, try the other insects.
