Read Richard III lately? He is an evil character. He kills the rival king, marries his wife, kills both of his brothers, his wife, his brothers children and a host of others in order to be king! If that ain't evil, I don't know what is!

The so-called friends of Caesar acted quite evilly, speaking with their knives. So did Lord and Lady MacBeth, and even King Lear was pretty evil, but not as bad as the fellow who put out the eyes of Lear's noblemen. The Jewish moneylender in Merchant of Venice was pretty bad, insisting upon a pound of real flesh, even though people tried to repay the debt. He refused the money - wanted his pound of flesh.
I think the worst of the evil doers is Octavian in Anthony and Cleapatra. He came to make an alliance with Cleo AFTER he intercepted and killed her youg son. Bad boy!

Shakespeare wrote about humans and we are pretty much a bad lot sometimes. Love you, Sammy (Keep reading)
