Act calmly and take your leave. Say something like:"Excuse me but I've got to leave. I'll call you later. Take care" . Call them later, much later when they've cooled down.

It depends upon the relationship and the degree of their anger!! Showing anger or fear can, and often will escalate people to more anger. Control your breathing, slow and even, and don't listen or focus on their words. Maintain not a "blank" look, but no expression; maintain eye contact in a non-threatening manner. Don't back up if they are threatening, unless they have demonstrated violence before--and then get out. Otherwise, as others have said, let them vent until they lose steam. Hopefully, they will eventually start a dialog with you.---But this is from a woman's reaction with an angry man. I really don't know what men do with angry men. I guess age and gender of the angry person has to be factored in. If they are clearly trying to intimidate you, stand firm, don't give in and usually they'll let it go.

You could yell louder than them " snap out of it " while slapping them in the face, saw it on an 80's movie. Or you could make a joke or tell a joke to relax them. Laughter is the best medicine

Don't do the things that make them angry in the first place. Once they are angry, it's too late. Accept your responsibility in it.

well you could walk away. if that's not an option you should try to quietly de-escalate the person's anger. try say something like, "I know you're upset, so let's sit down, talk about this, and put it to sleep right now". Or, "I'm willing to talk to you about this anytime, but not when you're this mad. chill, and let's do it". hope that helps.
