Its about the contriversity surroinding thier comments about President Bush. After that happned, the country music industy tunred their backs on them. People told them to just say sorry and get over it, but they cound't. They were still mad about it, and the song is about that, "Im Not Ready To Make Nice" "means they are not ready to say sorry. They even recived death threaths in the mail, which is also in the song.

The vidoe is amazing. The X-rays in the backround symbolized the straw brekaing the camels back, while the black wrap around her fingers show she is not ready to make peace (the peach sign cant be made with fingers bounded).

It's about their drama from way back when the lead singer made a comment about the President. She (Natalie) said she was embarrassed that he was from Texas. There was a huge controversy and they were outcasts for a while. This song is to say they aren't apologizing anymore... thus, "I'm not ready to make nice".

I think it's about that whole George Bush drama. After they said some not so nice things about the president some people were not too happy with them. And I think the song is just about sticking to their guns and not backing down from their opinions.

Its about the controversy over what Natalie the lead singer said about the president saying she was ashamed to be a Texan since Bush is.... and the drama over Toby Keith playing the I Love AMERICA and Bush decision... the only reason Natalie said that is because she does not feel that people making decisions to send people with no control over to fight a war that was in her eyes purposeless... that is it and all that drama.

It's basically about the controversy surrounding the fans acceptance of their opinions. At first they played it off as a song in the "goodbye Earl" sense, but reading the lyrics found them out real quick and was when most country stations shunned the whole cd instead of accepting them (like some were thinking about trying)

I believe it's about all the controversy that went down because of their comment about President Bush. People hated them so much after that, and I think they are saying they are not sorry for speaking their minds.

Its about free speach.
One member spoke badly about the president.
I believe the quote was "I'm ashamed that Bush is from Texas" or something close to that.

here is the chorus

I'm not ready to make nice,
I'm not ready to back down,
I'm still mad as hell
And I don't have time
To go round and round and round
It's too late to make it right
I probably wouldn't if I could
Cause I'm mad as hell
Can't bring myself to do what it is
You think I should

It's a really good song...you can sample is as amazon look them up and most recent ablum to here a snip.

"Not Ready To Make Nice"... is about the comments that Natalie Maines Made About Bush saying he was a "dumb f---."
